Born just after the end of the Second World War, when the population of Borzoi in England had fallen to a low number, Eglon of Rydens became an important stud dog. He is the sire of over 40 Borzoi in the database and his offspring formed a major part of the next generation of English Borzoi.

As a result of this English Champion Eglon of Rydens is a dog found in the pedigree of most Borzoi in North America, England and Australia. The reason that this partial list of descendents list is limited to only 4 generations of descendents (which brings it to dogs in the mid 1970's) is that a list covering dogs into the 1990's consisted of over 10,000 Borzoi out of the 40,000+ Borzoi in the Borzoi Heritage Database.
